Pssst! guerilla release! Have you heard this Spanish single yet? "Quizás" by yours truly 🙌
It’s live on reverbnation now, (see my music player!) and soon to be available worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, deezer, and more!
Performers on this track:
Sohayla Smith (Singer-songwriter, classical lead guitar, acoustic rhythm guitar, caja, light percussion, all vocals, mixing & mastering), with Adrian Smith (electric rhythm guitar), and Tyler Reed (bass guitar). Thank you both for your talents.
Additional, and equally important, thanks goes out to: Maestro Roger Scannura, Laurence Stevenson, Gord Light, Raul Ponce, Ernie Lynch & associates (Kees, Katherine, and Josefina), Jordan Migues, and everyone else who leant an ear, a requested opinion, engineering support, or linguistic advice along the way. I’m very much appreciative of you all! 🙏♥️ ¡Muchas gracias!
(See video above) - I wrote this tonight. It’s a prelude to a larger work in progress. The cost of love - the cost of life - it’s very high, the price we pay. Por eso es un preludio caro.
Noise of my game-playing child and dogs colour this first recording, but I love them, so i left it as is.
Thank you to Erin Radio for their ongoing support and plays ♥️🙏
We did something fun! Can’t share it yet, but stay in tune!!
Live & Original Spotlight Interview & Performance
I had a chance to sit down and catch up with Tyler from the Town of Collingwood, as well as John from thePeakFM, talked music, and more! If you missed the episode live, feel free to watch the captured livestream below to listen to a few tunes, and find out more about the new album coming out June 22nd, 2020!
I wrote this song a few days ago - Ten Steps Back. Thankful for the inspiration, and the journey inward and homeward. Sending everyone love and music - stay strong, these are trying times... it'll pass, and maybe when it does, we'll all be better for it.
Hey! This (below) is a music video for my song Walk Away, made during self-quarantine for Covid-19 pandemic. I had planned to shoot a video with the help of others, but had to set that aside for the time being like everyone else, so I decided to try to make one myself. 5 hours of work, 3 costume changes, no lights (and we don’t own lamps lol), no helpers, one iPhone, one free video editing program, one white piano, and one corner of my living room. This is what you get! I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you to the Collingwood Live & Original team for bringing us back to host another music lab - we had a great time, so many great questions, and lots of talent!
I wrote this piece (see video below) a few weeks ago and shared it on Instagram. I’m piecing it together. I moved from first to second without pause and turned the opera vocal into a piano melody for now because I lost my voice. The process of elimination lesson: Don’t throw your lifeline to someone who doesn’t think you’re worth the rope burn, throw it to someone who knows you are. - Sohayla Smith composed March 3, 2020
