MUSIC FOR A SUNDAY EVENING - SIMCOE STREET THEATRE
Oct 15th, 2017.
What an awesome night! Thank you to the Simcoe Street Theatre, Music for a Sunday Evening concert series, all the event sponsors, and supporters! We were thrilled to play a full concert for the first time as a full band, and what an amazing venue to be able to do that in. We'd like to put a huge thank you out to Mad River Photography for setting up a video camera for us, as well as taking amazing shots of us performing - you guys are amazing!
There are more videos to be added up on our reverbnation, but if you'd like to get a taste of what the show was like, Burn it to the Ground is below.
Thank you to Daniel and Dakota for helping us get all the equipment sorted out and moved, manning tickets and cd's, and for your support! Thank you to Aaron for doing such a fantastic job on sound! It was perfect! Thank you to all of our family, friends, fans, and hopefully new fans that came out to see what all this concert fuss was about! Thank you. We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did.

TIMA Update (see photo below): Well, we didn't win our category, but we sure made a night of it, seeing old friends, making new ones, networking, and having a blast together, celebrating how far we've come. It was a great night! We're really honoured to have been nominated, and we're looking forward to our future as a band!
We're so thrilled to be a nominee for the 2017 Toronto Independent Music Awards!

We've been working hard and we're excited to share our progress with you. Firstly, the indie-pop-rock single, "Let Go", is officially out for digital download and streaming now! It's up on spotify and deezer, and for sale currently on Reverbnation (other retailers soon). You can listen to it on the player to the right.
We've also released The Red Room Recording Session EP digitally (itunes, apple music, spotify, deezer), and have sent off for 100 cds too! These will be the first REAL cd's we've ever made...as in, pressed in a manufacturing place, pretty case and inserts and all.. When they arrive we'll be taking most of them to sell at the Collingwood show coming up at Simcoe Street Theatre (see poster below for more info) or click here to get tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sohayla-smith-band-at-the-simcoe-street-theatre-tickets-35698737886

Live EP in the works with Josh Maitland of Red Room Recordings!
We had an 8 hour session this weekend, working with Josh Maitland of Red Room Recordings, and we tackled 4 songs that we hope will come together beautifully to represent our live performance. We plan to head back for more recording time, and as we complete songs, we'll be releasing them for streaming until the EP is complete - then it'll be available for sale as well. Get ready for some new tunes! See some photos from our session below.
